Testimonials:
I love them and I will buy sets to go in all my cassettes. As a hygienist of 4 years I have suffered from chronic thumb pain. These have greatly decreased the strain I’m putting on my hand & thumb! I feel I have added years onto my career.
Linsey
These are phenomenal! I’m definitely purchasing more. The discomfort from pinching my instrument was immediately resolved when I used the star. This product should be mandatory for all dental offices.
Angelica
The ergonomic handle reduces hand fatigue. It allows for a more comfortable grip especially during prolonged procedure. The rubber shell allows for a softer contact surface, compared to a traditional metal scalpel handle. The star device allows for more controlled movements during procedures. The handle is durable and autoclavable. The handle’s comfort and durability makes it a valuable tool for…
Sally Fayed, MD
The handle is good for any surgical procedure really, the tactile sensation you get while transitioning from the buccal/lingual/palatal surface through the papilla and into the mesial and distal areas is fantastic. Especially into edentulous spaces.
Don Dinello, DMD
They have a very good feel although it’s very different from the traditional handle. I found it most useful during a Tori removal (long sulcular incisions).
Hector Siordia, DDS
I’d say it’s so versatile and you can put it on pretty much any dental instrument, pencil, paintbrush, etc. I use it on my crochet hooks too!

A lot of dental professionals don’t realize how hard it is on your body to be holding a pen grasp all day everyday. This helps so much! It has seriously saved my carpal tunnel from flaring up
Happy Customer
It’s cut the time for scaling off excess crown glue in half, for me personally.
Happy Customer
I never do restorative appointments without it on at least one instrument

Frequently Asked Questions

Reg. Diameter HErD Stars which come in either Lt. Blue or Black colors, will fit the hand pieces and piezo scalers (also typo- scalers). Buy Now.

Sm. Diameter HErD Stars which only come in Black, will fit the skinny mirrors and narrow handled explorer/perio probes, and other small diameter handles.  Buy Now.

We have 2 colors available in our Reg. Diameter currently. The idea is to have hygienists color code each end of their curette so they can differentiate each end easily.

We will add more colors in the future. Contact us to tell us which colors you would like to see.

The Star shape was perhaps the 5th iteration. Believe it or not, a butterfly set of wings was the very first iteration. The Star provides a more open grip, the edge provides an edge that the fingers may engage with to utilize a latch pull effect, and the flutes of the Star allow the practitioner to rotate the instrument digitally using all the thousands of nerve endings at the end of every fingertip (that’s why we can feel grains of sand between our fingers!)  Buy Now.
